Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable individual to take on a leadership role within our expanding team, dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients, their infants, and families.
The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication abilities and have a solid understanding of the Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, and Children's Act.
Experience in the perinatal sector is essential, along with a commitment to quality and patient-centered care, and a passion for driving and implementing change. The successful applicant will assume Ward Manager responsibilities for our specialized six-bed Mother and Baby Unit, collaborating closely with the Clinical Lead on all facets of service delivery and enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Must hold a valid RMN registration.
- Serve as the ward manager/team leader for a dedicated team providing specialized inpatient care for women during the perinatal phase.
- Conduct clinical and non-clinical audits, analyze findings, and develop improvement strategies.
- Manage staffing in accordance with trust policies and procedures.
- Provide senior oversight and clinical guidance on complex cases.
- Ensure compliance with all legal frameworks in a timely and appropriate manner.

Staff Bank Overview
Our NHS staff bank is managed by the Trust and hires both clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to cover shifts at our hospitals and community settings. We maintain a dedicated bank of specialized staff to ensure safe and effective care at all times.
All permanent staff are automatically enrolled in the staff bank, although this does not obligate you to work additional shifts; the option is available if you choose.

Education
Essential
- Valid RMN registration and ability to meet revalidation criteria.
- Training in mentorship.
Desirable

- Minimum of two years' experience as a Band 6 Charge Nurse.
- At least two years' experience in perinatal services.
