We are seeking highly skilled musicians to join our Royal Air Force (RAF) Music team. As a Musician in the RAF, you will have the opportunity to perform at top concert venues, national events, and royal engagements, while also providing music support for the RAF, Ministry of Defence, and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Key Responsibilities- Perform at prestigious concert venues, national events, and royal engagements
- Provide music support for the RAF, Ministry of Defence, and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office
- Play a varied repertoire from symphonic wind band to big band, small ensemble, and chamber music
- Perform to a minimum Grade 8 standard as defined by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music or equivalent
- Be aged 17.5–47 years old (Must attest before 48th birthday)
- Be a citizen of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland, holder of dual UK/other nationality, or have been a Commonwealth citizen since birth (with 'right to work' immigration status)
- Commit to a minimum of 27 days per year for 12 years minimum
As a Musician in the RAF, you will receive basic and specialist training in your field, as well as the opportunity to develop your skills through the Training and Development Section at your RAF unit. You will also have the chance to gain unique experiences while working around the world.

Once you've successfully completed each phase of the application process, you'll be invited to a provisional offer of service interview at your nearest RAF base. If you're successful, you'll begin your career as a Musician in the RAF, with the opportunity to progress to higher ranks and develop your skills further.
