About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Rating to join our team at Boskalis Westminster. As a Technical Rating, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard our vessels, ensuring the highest level of safety and efficiency.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of machinery and machinery spaces to maintain awareness of the condition and operational capability of all equipment at all times.
  • Arrange all transfers of fuel/lube oil/fresh water.
  • Ensure that all planned maintenance and both normal and emergency repair work is carried out.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Superintendent to ensure that all work is planned for minimum disruption to the vessel's overall programme and maximum reliability and availability of the plant.
  • Ensure all measures to prevent pollution of the environment are exercised.
  • Keep all engine room records as required by the Company and other authorities and ensure that they are completed neatly and accurately.
  • Be fully conversant with Company and Shipboard regulations and policies in order to carry out efficient and safe functions.
  • Carry out any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Master.

Requirements:

  • 3 years UK residency.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Current passport.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • ENG 1.
  • Sea Survival Course.
  • Basic Fire Fighting.
  • For ATV AEC 1 & 2.
  • For RSC AEC 1.
  • Knowledge of the technical operation of the installations of designated equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of operational processes.
  • Good command of English (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of the applicable Occupational Health & Safety rules.
  • Basic skills in ICT Office and fleet management systems.
  • Formal Qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Elementary First Aid.
  • RYA Powerboat Level 2.
  • Mandatory NINA training.
