Position Overview
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Site Buyer to join our Major Projects division, focusing on the Southern Integrated Delivery initiative. This role is primarily site-based and will report directly to the Procurement Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute procurement activities as outlined in the project procurement Ecosystem strategy, ensuring compliance with processes related to plant, materials, and subcontract procurement.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on potential suppliers, assessing their financial stability, health and safety practices, competencies, workload, and historical performance.
- Support the administration, organization, and dissemination of procurement-related information.
- Monitor supply chain performance on tenders and projects, assisting in the implementation of necessary actions as directed.
- Contribute to the sustainable management of the SID supply chain, fostering relationships and ensuring performance evaluations are conducted, while managing supplier and subcontractor performance as needed.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a Level 3 Diploma in Procurement & Supply.
- Experience in general purchasing of goods, materials, and subcontracting.
- Knowledge of rail procurement processes.
- Understanding of civil procurement practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- A valid UK driving license.
- Excellent communication abilities.
