About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction and Procurement Lawyer to join our in-house legal team at South East Water. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering large-scale construction and commercial contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide commercially minded legal advice on NEC and JCT contractual documents.
  • Advise on adjudication processes and prepare claims, liaising with third parties and external lawyers as required.
  • Support the Head of Legal and contribute to the development of our legal function.
Requirements
  • Qualified lawyer practicing in England and Wales, preferably with experience in the energy or utilities sector.
  • Strong understanding of construction and commercial law, with expertise in drafting and negotiating construction contracts.
  • Ability to adopt a risk-based approach and provide pragmatic solutions to challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with engineering, procurement, and project teams.
