Guildmore Facades and Cladding is seeking a skilled Estimator to enhance our Planned division. As an Estimator, you will play a vital role in crafting precise and comprehensive tenders, significantly contributing to our bidding strategy while collaborating closely with the pre-construction team to deliver competitive and profitable project proposals.

This position demands a thorough understanding of construction methodologies, exceptional analytical capabilities, and effective communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate project requirements by analyzing scope of works, drawings, specifications, and other tender documents.
  • Generate take-offs and prepare bills of quantities as necessary.
  • Develop detailed work packages for quality supply chain tender inquiries, fostering and managing pre-construction relationships with supply chain partners.
  • Identify and assess potential project risks, ensuring comprehensive coverage in the tender documentation.
  • Review and equalize pricing returns from the supply chain to align with project requirements, and when necessary, derive rates and pricing from first principles.
  • Engage in project meetings, site inspections, and client presentations as required.
  • Contribute to weekly 'Pipeline & Estimating Review' meetings, providing updates on progress to the pre-construction team.
  • Analyze client ITT documents and offer strategic insights during 'Tender Launch' meetings.
  • Prepare and deliver a detailed pricing appraisal at 'Tender Adjudication' meetings, presenting a comprehensive overview of pricing strategy and key project risks to inform tender submissions.
  • Ensure effective communication to promote alignment and understanding among stakeholders.
  • Participate in regular project review meetings to discuss ongoing progress and challenges.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as a construction estimator, quantity surveyor, or in a comparable role.
  • Familiarity with standard client pricing schedules, including percentage adjustments to published National Federation Schedules of Rates (SOR), bespoke SORs, lump sum pricing, basket rates, and archetype rates.
  • Knowledge of occupied refurbishment projects.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in IT, with a solid understanding of MS Office applications and specialized job management software.
