About the Role:

Gentoo, a values-led charitable organisation, is seeking a skilled Joiner to join its Property Maintenance team. As a Joiner, you will be responsible for carrying out installations, repairs, and maintenance work, as well as other joinery-related duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure appropriate parts and materials are available for jobs, with accountability for van-based stock and replenishment.
  • Be competent in the use of handheld IT systems.
  • Carry out works in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ensure that RAMS, Method Statements, Product Information, and COSHH are adhered to and followed.
  • Liaise with designated Repairs Manager or Supervisor regarding the status of any and all work.
  • Liaise and interface with other trades as required.
  • Awareness of specific access equipment to be used for at height and confined spaces, and demonstrate an aptitude for application.
  • Ability to demonstrate a competency for carrying out minor non-trade-specific tasks, including minor plaster patch repairs, tiling, brickwork, plumbing, and painting.
  • Driving as required.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work place.
  • Maintain impressed stock levels on the vehicle and management replenishment.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as may be assigned by the Line Manager.

Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Effective customer care skills.
  • Ability to work at height.
  • Ability to work in external environments.

Qualifications and Training:

  • A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
  • One of the following qualifications is required:
    • Served a recognised (Indentured) craft apprenticeship in Joinery.
    • City & Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate in Joinery.
    • NVQ level 3 in Joinery.
