About the Job
We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our team at Gregory Distribution. As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling transportation operations to ensure efficient and effective delivery of goods to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and organize transportation activities to meet customer requirements.
- Collaborate with Transport Managers to ensure efficient operations.
- Identify opportunities to add value to existing contracts.
- Liaise with the warehouse to ensure trailer and vehicle availability.
- Communicate with internal and external customers regarding night operations.
- Ensure vehicle activity is planned for maximum efficiency.
- Ensure all contracted work is covered in line with customer expectations.
- Debrief drivers at the end of each shift.
- Meet daily revenue targets per shift per vehicle.
- Communicate collection times and delivery bookings with customers.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and update the TMS system.
- Observe and follow company Safe Systems of Work.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the transport warehouse and logistics industry.
- Good understanding of legal compliance, driver's hours, and WTDs.
- Leadership skills.
- Track record of leading successful change.
- Proven experience in customer relationship management.
- Ability to present to senior key contacts and customers.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- IT literacy, including MS Office, and strong analytical ability.
