Job Title: Band 7 Occupational Therapist Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist Lead to join our Neurodevelopmental Service (NDS) team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for leading the development of the Occupational Therapy role within the service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of the Occupational Therapy role within the NDS team.
  • Provide clinical supervision to occupational therapy colleagues within the NDS team.
  • Contribute to the development of the NDS service and quality of care delivery.
  • Work closely with clinical and team leads to plan occupational therapy input to the Neurodevelopmental Pathway.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient use of physical and financial resources.
  • Monitor the service on a regular basis and provide statistical information to the Neurodevelopmental Pathway Lead and others.
Requirements:
  • 1st level degree in Occupational Therapy, or equivalent experience or qualification.
  • Evidence of post graduate courses / CPD maintained portfolio.
  • Post graduate certificate in Sensory Integration, or equivalent.
  • Leadership training.
  • Sound knowledge of child development.
  • Commitment to delivering the highest standards and quality outcomes possible, always looking for ways to improve the service for young people and their families.
  • Ability to communicate sensitive information to young people, their families/carers, and staff.
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team acting as an advocate for occupational therapy.
  • Supervision role.
Personal and People Development:
  • Ability to manage independent clinics and own timetable.
  • Able to communicate effectively using the English language in both written and verbal forms.
Other:
  • Must hold full and valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle to meet the requirements of the role.
