About the Role

The Lead Quality Engineer is accountable for guiding the testing team throughout the phases of test analysis, design, construction, and execution. This role primarily involves leading the team, ensuring timely completion of tasks within budget while meeting or exceeding client expectations.

A crucial aspect of this position is to deliver regular, precise, and succinct reports on team progress, showcasing recent accomplishments, upcoming tasks, and any risks or issues that may hinder the team's objectives. The Lead Quality Engineer must think creatively about testing methodologies and adapt strategies as necessary to foster continuous improvement.

  • Establish and uphold Test Plans and Test Schedules
  • Delegate tasks, track progress, and provide constructive feedback to team members
  • Gather and present test metrics and statistics to the Project or Test Manager
  • Offer guidance, direction, and mentorship to the testing team
  • Facilitate both top-down and bottom-up analyses of systems and components
  • Ensure Test Plans and testing solutions align with customer requirements and expectations
  • Verify the accuracy of Test Data against specifications
  • Develop and maintain a detailed execution timeline
  • Compile status reports for management, highlighting issues and risks
  • Oversee the defect logging process, adjusting plans based on defect risks
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing testing approaches and processes
  • Support the career development of junior team members through coaching and mentoring
  • Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration across the organization
  • Manage internal stakeholder relationships as part of a delivery team, providing regular updates
  • Contribute to the sales pipeline by identifying new opportunities within existing accounts and engaging in pre-sales activities
  • Perform any additional duties as required by the organization

  • Familiarity with implementing waterfall, agile, and hybrid/custom testing methodologies

EXCELLENCE

  • Subject Matter Expert level experience with industry-leading testing tools
  • Experience in project and resource management

COMMITMENT

  • Experience in a senior testing role, including team leadership
  • Broad experience across various Testing phases, including User Acceptance Testing and Live Proving

STRAIGHT TALKING

  • Experience in building strong relationships with business stakeholders to ensure the delivery of business value
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels
