About the Role

As a Senior Quality Engineer, your responsibilities will encompass test preparation, including specification, execution, and reporting for designated functionality areas. You will assist the Lead Quality Engineer in the preliminary planning for the testing phase.

The Senior Quality Engineer is tasked with ensuring adherence to best practices in testing activities, applying the necessary rigor in all aspects of testing within their assigned domain. You will provide support, assistance, and mentorship to junior colleagues collaborating with you. Additionally, you will contribute to the broader team by innovatively considering optimal testing strategies and identifying requirements to facilitate testing.

  • Engage across all essential testing phases.
  • Review program/project documentation that will form the test basis and offer constructive feedback to enhance these documents (static testing).
  • Lead test specification activities for assigned functionality areas, providing support and guidance to peers and junior colleagues.
  • Extract test conditions from key documents that form the test basis, seeking clarification when necessary, and design test scenarios, data, and cases to cover these.
  • Support execution for all testing phases, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Live Proving.
  • Provide leadership, feedback, mentoring, and coaching to other analysts as needed.
  • Ensure appropriate review of produced test artifacts.
  • Triage, monitor, and report defects.
  • Deliver accurate reporting on progress for assigned functionality areas or testing phases.
  • Support Roq's Quality Engineering Ecosystem, Quality Engineering Principles, and our values throughout the organization and externally.
  • Perform any other duties as deemed necessary by the company.
What We Look For

PASSIONATE

  • Experience in a Senior Quality Engineer role across various programs, encompassing all key testing phases.
  • A strong interest in software testing and the testing community.

EXCELLENCE

  • ISTQB Foundation level certification (or equivalent).
  • Substantial practical exposure to industry-leading testing tools and the capability to leverage additional tools as needed.
  • Ability to specify the necessary test data for allocated functionality areas and secure/prepare this data where required.

COMMITMENT

  • Capacity to work across multiple projects and manage workload effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in waterfall, agile, and hybrid/custom testing environments.

STRAIGHT TALKING

  • Strong relationship-building skills to collaborate closely with Business Analysts, technical resources, and Subject Matter Experts to ensure appropriate test preparation and coverage.
  • Experience in liaising with clients and addressing any queries in accordance with client requirements.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in leading testing teams.
  • Agile training or certification.
  • Experience in test automation, including building automation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Postman.
  • SQL proficiency.
  • Familiarity with ALM Tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, Eggplant, SpiraTeam).
