Quality Assurance Engineer

Located in Chorley, this Quality Assurance Engineer position offers a competitive salary of £30,000 - £35,000 per annum.

Company Overview

Our client, a leading Precision Engineering company, is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure their products meet the highest quality standards.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a critical role in inspecting Raw Materials, Goods In, and Manufactured Components, ensuring they align with customer specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Complete goods' inward inspection of all supplier materials, completing CARs when required.
  2. Inspect finished goods to verify they meet the final quality requirements.
  3. Process and report rejected parts, Raise Non-Conformance Records, and track resolutions.
  4. Receive and inspect customer-returned products, documenting and addressing any issues discovered.
  5. Oversee the Machine room, Polishing operations, Assemble, Printing and Stores areas, implementing corrective action and improvement techniques.
  6. Liaise with suppliers to complete Corrective Action Reports.
  7. Monitor manufacturing processes, identifying opportunities for product and process improvements.
  8. Oversee first-off inspections to confirm that machined parts meet engineering drawings and specifications.
  9. Prepare and maintain quality documentation for inspections and SOPs.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a proven background in a Quality Inspection or similar position and previous experience in a machining position, particularly in the production of metal components.

A strong understanding of technical drawings, engineering blueprints, and GD&T is essential, as is experience with measuring equipment such as micrometres, callipers, gauges, and CMM machines.

Solid knowledge and experience with Quality Standards – ISO9001 is also required, as is the ability to work pro-actively, off own initiative, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
