Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with our dedicated team to conduct neurodevelopmental and neurobehavioral evaluations for children aged 0–18 years. Referrals are managed through the Pan-Dorset Development and Behavioral Pathway.

• Address co-existing conditions such as ADHD, tics, and epilepsy.

• Provide clinical supervision and training for Specialist Registrars while fulfilling the community pediatric responsibilities of their roles.

• Cultivate a specialized area of interest that enhances our current service offerings.

• Engage in clinic activities within a special educational environment.

Candidate Requirements Education, Qualifications & Training Essential Criteria
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via; CCT, CESAR, or European Community Rights
  • Relevant higher surgical/medical qualification
  • Advanced Paediatric and Neonatal Resuscitation training completed within the last 4 years
Experience & Knowledge Essential Criteria
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in Paediatrics at a middle level, including 6 months in a tertiary neonatal unit or equivalent
  • Demonstrated capability to meet the demands of a DGH-based Consultant
  • Experience in a specialized interest that complements existing departmental expertise
  • Willingness to fulfill the general service components of the job description
  • Evidence of the clinical skills necessary for both general and community aspects of the role
Skills & Knowledge Essential Criteria
  • Proven leadership and service development skills, with the ability to foster effective working relationships
  • Understanding of clinical governance, involvement in audit, and knowledge of research principles
  • General management training and skills relevant to the position, with the ability to contribute to the strategic direction of the Trust
  • Familiarity with the organizational structure of the NHS
