Waterlooville, Hampshire, United Kingdom Teaching Personnel Full time

Position: Autism Support Specialist

  • Full-time role available
  • Long-term position

Teaching Personnel is actively seeking dedicated individuals to fill various roles in primary educational settings, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) provisions. We collaborate with numerous primary schools to provide essential staffing support, addressing both long-term and short-term needs.

A primary institution with an SEN provision is in search of additional support staff. These positions are available for immediate start, with flexibility based on the selected candidate's availability. The school is eager to find the right individuals to join their team.

The institution is particularly interested in securing Level 2 qualified support staff for full-time roles (Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm). The Level 2 qualification does not need to be specific to a school setting; candidates with various educational backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students throughout the school day
  • Support students within the specialized provision
  • Utilize sensory approaches in learning
  • Facilitate speech, language, and communication development
  • Consider the individual choices and needs of each student, encouraging positive decision-making for their learning journey

This provision caters to students with diverse needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN), Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), and associated behavioral challenges.

Experience in similar environments is beneficial, though not mandatory. Candidates from various backgrounds, including care, support work, and youth services, are welcome to apply.

We encourage applications from individuals passionate about education and making a meaningful impact on students with SEN.

All applicants must possess the necessary qualifications and training for this role. For further information regarding the positions, please refer to the Teaching Personnel website.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We conduct thorough safeguarding checks on all candidates in accordance with statutory guidance.
