M&A Origination Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a commercially minded, proactive individual to join our M&A origination team at Connect Corporate Finance. The ideal candidate will have experience in deal/lead generation and be adept at working at the early stages of deal development as well as supporting pipeline management.

The principal responsibilities will be:

  • Proactively identifying and assessing potential target investment companies
  • Conducting market research and mapping relevant markets to a client's acquisition criteria
  • Highlighting potential targets and shareholders and assessing their fit for the client
  • Preparing M&A prospect reports highlighting key characteristics
  • Leading the outreach to prospective targets and supporting the lead advisor throughout
  • Supporting the deal team with research and meeting preparation
  • Meeting with prospective clients and business owners
  • Maintaining databases to support overall business performance
  • Participating in various aspects of a transaction, with extensive interaction with clients
  • Providing research information to support transaction execution
  • Preparing presentations for management team meetings
  • Conducting individual company analysis and research of selected target companies, including financial, strategic, and competitor analysis

Requirements:

To be considered, you must be of graduate calibre with strong commercial skills. You will be a motivated, self-starter who has excellent interpersonal skills and be an effective team player.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of deal origination and business development
  • Evidence of academic achievement – a degree is strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills, including prioritisation, scheduling, and time management
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
