About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Office Manager to join our team at Hitachi Europe Ltd. in the Environmental Business Division (EBD) EMEA operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the management of EBD EMEA operations, providing strategic analysis on new business innovation initiatives, and driving the planning, budgeting, pacing, and reporting process of the unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the operation of the EBD EMEA unit, including planning, budgeting, reporting, and ensuring the fitness and on-time delivery of deliverables to corporate global management.
  • Provide strategic analysis of markets, innovation trends, and startups companies, assessing business ecosystems and competitive dynamics in energy, mobility, and industrial sectors.
  • Scout databases, reports, and attend conferences/meetings to identify interesting startups and corporate partners, track them in a structured manner, and analyze their strengths, weaknesses, assets, finance capacities, and business models.
  • Prepare regular update reports and other communications materials for internal stakeholders and support ad-hoc presentations.
  • Collaborate with the units and be a key contact partner and contributor to Hitachi's Corporate Venture Office (CVO).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's in an area such as Finance, Business Administration, Sustainability Strategy, Technology & Information Management, or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of professional experience, either or both in strategy and/or management support, with experience with startups being a plus.
  • Ability to support unit operation with impeccable inter-personal and reporting skills.
  • Versed in strategic analysis and taste for startup and corporate venture environment.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and inquisitive, with extremely organized, inclination for structure, and strong time-management skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to understand the big picture and break down into smaller operational pieces, working well under pressure, and confident and credible communication skills.
  • Fluency in English, with a second European language being a plus.
