About the Role

Vistry Group PLC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Planner to join our experienced Development team. As an Assistant Planner, you will be responsible for assisting the Development Planning Manager in all planning-related matters within the regional business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Development Planning Manager in assessing the planning potential of prospective sites for our land team.
  • Design and plan residential developments, managing the planning process to targeted objectives.
  • Build excellent long-term relationships within the team, regional business, consultants, and local authorities.
  • Review and understand relevant local authority policies and nationally described space standard (NDSS) requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of planning appraisals for new land opportunities.
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Land & Development Department in conjunction with other team members.
  • Prepare design and planning briefs and commission works being undertaken by external consultants.
  • Raise purchase orders and manage the planning budget for each project.
  • Assist in providing an effective handover to the regional business at various stages of planning.

Requirements

  • Further education in Planning or a related course.
  • Competent in using basic Microsoft programmes.
  • Capable of implementing change and using initiative.
  • Resilient, positive, confident, and assertive but diplomatic.
  • Able to communicate effectively with a team of consultants.
  • A good communicator and listener.
  • Awareness of the social and environmental impact of your work.
  • Accurate with an eye for detail.
  • Decision making/problem solving/multi-tasking.
  • Able to work under pressure as part of a highly motivated team.
  • Willing to work flexibly to meet deadlines as and when the business needs require it.
