Job Title: Urban Planner

Location: Leicester

The Company:

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is delighted to be supporting one of the largest and most successful multidisciplinary design practices in the UK.

Our client is seeking an Urban Planner to join the team in the Leicester studio, reporting to our Planning Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work towards Chartered Membership of the RTPI (ideally through an accredited degree route).
  • Assist in the preparation, submission, and management of pre-application enquiries, planning applications, appeals, and local plan representations.
  • Engage with clients, third parties, and planning authorities on all relevant matters, ensuring smooth communication and project delivery.
  • Present proposals at public meetings and community consultation events, representing the company and ensuring positive engagement.
  • Conduct desktop research to support planning projects, reports, and appraisals.
  • Attend meetings and site visits as required to understand project context and ensure alignment with client needs.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to long-term business partnerships.
  • Contribute to new business development efforts, identifying opportunities and developing strategies to drive growth.
