Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Engineer to join our Surrey Wheelchair Service team. As a Rehabilitation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in assessing the mobility needs of adults and children with complex needs, prescribing manual and powered wheelchairs, and providing clinical and technical guidance to colleagues.



Key Responsibilities


  • \t
  • Assess the mobility needs of service users and prescribe appropriate wheelchairs and accessories.
    \t
  • Supervise junior staff and provide clinical and technical guidance to colleagues.
    \t
  • Work with clinical and operational colleagues to deliver high-quality service performance and improve service user outcomes.
    \t
  • Liaise with service user groups and stakeholders to facilitate joint working and identify opportunities for improving service user outcomes.
    \t
  • Provide support for internal and external training programs and contribute to the development of internal training resources.
    \t
  • Undertake and document risk assessments and corresponding risk management.
    \t
  • Use analytical, engineering, and practical skills to solve problems for service users related to their mobility equipment.
    \t
  • Hold a full current UK driving license for a manual transmission vehicle and be willing to drive Ross Care vehicles as necessary.
    \t
  • Be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
    \


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:




  • \t
  • A track record of using your analytical, engineering, and practical skills to solve problems for service users.
    \t
  • Experience of working with patients with long-term or deteriorating medical conditions.
    \t
  • Confidence in the use of digital systems and software for record-keeping and analysis of service performance.
    \t
  • A full current UK driving license for a manual transmission vehicle.
    \t
  • Willingness to drive Ross Care vehicles as necessary.
    \t
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
    \
