This role is designed for a part-time, permanent position, offering flexibility of up to 30 hours per week, with a schedule that can be negotiated from Monday to Friday, including occasional evening and weekend commitments.

Compensation: The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £34,000 pro-rata.

Our community center is a modern facility that hosts after-school programs, employment assistance, gardening initiatives for seniors, and much more.

Role Overview: As the Lead Communications Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping and executing our Communications Strategy through various channels, including websites, social media platforms, newsletters, promotional materials, press releases, and events.

Your primary objective will be to enhance the visibility of St Luke's and its brand within the community, aiming to attract new members, boost participation in our events, and generate revenue through fundraising and commercial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Communications Manager to develop and implement the Communications Strategy across multiple disciplines, including media relations, internal communications, brand marketing, advertising, and social media.
  • Oversee the creation of materials for all events and activities, ensuring adherence to St Luke's Brand Guidelines through structured templates and staff training.
  • Produce and edit video content for our social media channels, managing our online presence and providing insights into daily activities at the center.
  • Coordinate an online events calendar using our membership database, ensuring effective promotion of events through appropriate channels.
  • Manage website content and the membership database, providing training and support to other users as necessary.
  • Generate daily content for social media updates, expanding our reach and staying current with trends and developments.
  • Support staff in updating social media, including conducting occasional workshops.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in contributing to and collaborating within a team to deliver a Communications Strategy.
  • Strong writing skills, with experience in crafting articles, press releases, and managing website content.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a creative and confident approach.
  • Thorough knowledge of the English language, particularly in spelling and grammar.
  • Proficient in IT, with experience in social media, design software, and standard office applications.
  • Creative mindset with an eye for graphic design and an understanding of visual communication trends.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while demonstrating initiative in enhancing communication systems.
  • Strong prioritization and planning skills.
