Role Responsibilities

As a Public Affairs and Policy Officer, you will be instrumental in enhancing our client's engagement with governmental bodies and boosting their capacity to influence policy.

Your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Leading parliamentary monitoring efforts and managing the parliamentary stakeholder contact database.
  • Reporting on governmental activities, updating relevant information, and identifying new engagement opportunities with parliamentarians.
  • Gathering insights from consultations, drafting responses, and representing our client at stakeholder meetings and policy-related events.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Public Affairs and Policy to promote policy positions and develop effective public affairs strategies to improve responses to domestic abuse.

Additionally, you will:

  • Create clear, well-researched, high-quality materials for both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Organize events to showcase our client's practices and policy recommendations.
  • Maintain a secure and accurate audit trail of all relevant communications.

Candidate Profile

To be considered for the role of Public Affairs and Policy Officer, you will need:

  • Experience with governmental operations and parliamentary procedures.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing effective public affairs strategies, successfully influencing political stakeholders.
  • Experience in supporting policy development through written communications aimed at governmental and parliamentary audiences.
  • Background in political or charitable campaigns.
  • Strong political insight and judgment.
  • Thorough understanding of public policy processes, including UK Government, local government, devolved administrations, national agencies, and parliamentary procedures.
  • Exceptional skills in policy development and analysis.
