Children & Young People Projects Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Officer to join our team at Leeds City Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, managing, and redeveloping the second phase of the successful Run Leeds programme.
About the RoleThe Project Officer will work closely with the Active Leeds Service to increase the number of people from underrepresented groups, including women and girls, who currently run in Leeds. The role will involve traveling to venues within Leeds areas to meet the needs of the organisation, assisting in the identification and undertaking of own training and development requirements, and undertaking the accountabilities of the post in accordance with council policies.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate, manage, and redevelop the second phase of the successful Run Leeds programme.
- Work closely with the Active Leeds Service to increase the number of people from underrepresented groups, including women and girls, who currently run in Leeds.
- Travel to venues within Leeds areas to meet the needs of the organisation.
- Assist in the identification and undertaking of own training and development requirements.
- Undertake the accountabilities of the post in accordance with council policies.
- UKCC Level 2 qualifications or equivalent physical activity instructor qualifications.
- Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for the role of physical activity and community engagement in improving health outcomes.
- Computer literate in a variety of software packages.
- Experience of physical activity and/or community development in a public, private, or voluntary capacity.
- Experience of effectively delivering sport or physical activity sessions with groups.
- Experience of successfully engaging with local communities and specific target groups.
- Experience in creating and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders, partners, and customers.
