Qualifications Required

Mandatory Criteria

  • Current GMC registration with inclusion in the specialist register for Cardiology
  • Completion of Post CCT/CCST or expected within a six-month timeframe
  • Possession of MRCP or an equivalent qualification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree such as MD/PhD

Professional Experience

Mandatory Experience

  • A minimum of three years in general cardiology, including acute cardiology and CCU
  • Demonstrated evidence of sub-specialist training
  • Proficiency in all areas of echocardiography, stress echo, and TOE

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with cross-sectional cardiac imaging techniques (CT/MRI)

Technical Proficiencies

Mandatory Skills

  • Experience in conducting audits
  • Background in teaching and mentoring peers

Preferred Skills

  • First-author publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Experience in departmental management, including outpatient priorities and waiting lists
  • Completion of management training programs
  • Experience in formal teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
