About the Position

Overview

The Sustainable Investment Advisor plays a pivotal role in enhancing Wellington's commercial and product sustainability initiatives. This position emphasizes product management support for key climate equity offerings and involves collaboration with the Client Group and Product Management to execute client-focused climate, net zero, and sustainability strategies within the Sustainable Investment division of the Client Platform.

Key Responsibilities

Climate Equity Product Oversight

  • The Sustainable Investment Advisor works alongside the climate product oversight team, providing analytical support and serving as a resource for internal inquiries regarding investment teams and offerings.
  • Responsibilities include close collaboration with Investment Directors and portfolio managers, performing analyses on portfolio positioning, attribution, risk assessment, market dynamics, competitive landscape, and pricing strategies.
  • Additional duties encompass the creation and maintenance of marketing and client materials, climate reporting, reviewing requests for proposals (RFPs), addressing client inquiries, automating workflows, and collaborating on innovative investment solutions.

Integration of Sustainable Investment & Climate / Net Zero Products

  • Acts as a subject matter expert in sustainable investment, providing insights and support to teams across Investment Products & Fund Strategies (IPFS) and the Client Group, particularly addressing complex client inquiries in the EMEA region.
  • Contributes to the enhancement of complex sustainable investment products and mandates by serving as an expert and member of the Sustainable Investment Product Integrity Working Group.
  • Collaborates with the Climate Research Team, IPFS, portfolio managers, and the Client Group to integrate Net Zero alignment into investment mandates.
  • Supports the global commercialization strategy for climate capabilities, including partnerships with research institutions.
  • Assists in developing a strategic content program that promotes the sustainable investment agenda across Wellington's key pillars.
  • Participates in the design and delivery of an educational program on sustainable investment for the Client Platform.
  • Facilitates the implementation of sustainable investment strategies and risk management, ensuring adherence to product integrity and guidelines.
  • Works with Sustainable Investment leadership to design and execute significant global initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will exhibit adaptability, initiative, and a proactive approach. A keen interest in sustainable investment, particularly regarding climate and transition risks, along with a solid understanding of the investment industry, is essential. Key competencies include:

  • A bachelor's degree with strong academic credentials and a proven record of achievement.
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in sustainable investment or climate/transition risk.
  • Experience in equity markets/products is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Project management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to organize and synthesize data effectively.
  • Sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a unique perspective.
  • Attention to detail and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Strong written communication skills across various formats.
  • Articulate with a desire to enhance presentation abilities.
  • Proactive and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a global team.
  • Technical proficiency, particularly in MS Excel; familiarity with analytical tools is a plus.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure while delivering results.
