About the Role:
Avara Foods is a leading food business in the UK, supplying chicken and turkey to major supermarkets and restaurants. We're looking for a skilled Transport Planner to join our Logistics Team at our Telford site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule the delivery of finished goods and raw materials to customers and factories based on customer orders.
- Liaise with other Avara sites to utilize our in-house fleet and third-party hauliers to find cost-effective delivery solutions.
- Plan and schedule driver resources in accordance with legislative and ETI regulations.
- Communicate inbound delivery timings and obtain booking references via customer-based portals.
- Develop a warehouse loading schedule to achieve OTIF objectives.
- Liaise with Transport colleagues to ensure vehicles are scheduled for planned maintenance.
Requirements:
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Excellent Excel and Microsoft package skills.
- Excellent organization and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment.
- Knowledge of Drivers' hours and Working Time legislation.
