Job Title: Quality Engineering Architect

Location: Luton/Hybrid

Job Purpose:

The Quality Engineering function at easyJet is dedicated to delivering excellence, collaborating with technology stakeholders to promote a culture of quality and adherence to QA standards. The QE Architecture group works with stakeholders to implement a unified technology framework and best practices. As technologists passionate about quality, QE Architects aim to engineer optimal QE solutions to help build best-in-class products and applications, enabling faster time to market and cost efficiency.

The QE Architect will oversee the technical design and implementation of quality engineering solutions and test automation frameworks, guiding the quality of technical changes across all projects to ensure efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the QE Manager in driving the modernised Test Strategy for the programme, including introducing Quality Engineering practices and a shift-left approach to testing.
  2. Bring a holistic quality engineering approach to solutions by identifying QE opportunities and improvement areas.
  3. Support solution architects in designing solutions that require test platforms and applications.
  4. Gain an in-depth understanding of solution design and develop approaches to test functional and non-functional requirements.
  5. Implement the test strategy across the program at different stages of the development lifecycle.
  6. Propose the right tools/frameworks based on requirements, collaborating with other QE Architects and stakeholders.
  7. Support the team in designing test automation frameworks/solutions adhering to industry standards.
  8. Advocate for building quality into every step of the product development process.
  9. Work closely with Release Engineering to ensure Test Environments are set up correctly.

Guidance and Assurance:

  1. Collaborate with architects and senior IT colleagues to ensure services are designed with Quality in mind.
  2. Monitor the effectiveness of testing capabilities and bring improvements through insights gained via analysis.
  3. Mentor and coach testers on modern testing practices.
  4. Stay updated on process, practice, and technology developments.
  5. Be an active member of the internal Test Communities to share knowledge.

Requirements:

  1. Extensive experience in Testing, Quality engineering, and Test automation solution design.
  2. Understanding of varied SDLCs (Agile and traditional development methodologies).
  3. Ability to articulate and demonstrate the value of good quality and influence stakeholders.
  4. Experience with modern development methodologies and technologies.
  5. Identify metrics that improve overall project/product quality.
  6. Establish an effective test automation reporting process.
  7. Good experience in non-functional requirements and designing relevant solutions.
  8. Lead discovery initiatives for QE optimization opportunities.
  9. Mentor teams on testing and quality engineering best practices.
  10. Up-to-date testing industry knowledge.
  11. Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

  1. ISTQB Software Testing Foundation Certificate.
  2. Agile certifications (Certified Scrum Master/Product Owner, SAFe).
  3. Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).
  4. Experience with cloud architectures and technologies.
  5. Good experience in proposal development and influential skills.
  6. Understanding of AI use cases in Quality engineering.
