We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dental Officer to join our team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Special Care and Community Dental Service, you will play a vital role in providing emergency and urgent dental care to patients in Allerdale and Copeland.
Key Responsibilities- Provide routine dental care to patients with specific requirements, utilizing behavioral techniques, conscious sedation, or general anesthesia as needed.
- Liaise with social and healthcare personnel to ensure effective management and delivery of care to patients with specific needs.
- Deliver care in a variety of locations, including domiciliary settings, to patients who require such services.
- Work collaboratively with a range of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- BDS or equivalent dental qualification.
- FD or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Registration with the General Dental Council (Dentist).
- NHSE Performer List number.
- Postgraduate competency in sedation.
- Experience working with special care patients.
- Experience in clinical audit.
- Proven experience in routine minor oral surgery.
- Understanding of the legislative framework governing oral health care in England.
- Knowledge of current NHSE commissioning guidance for special care and pediatric dentistry.
- Ability to organize own workload and manage priorities.
- Expertise in a range of clinical dentistry.
- Empathy and understanding towards patients and other staff members.
- Ability to work in different clinical settings throughout a working week.
- Compliance with NHS policy on smoking.
- Current full driving license.
