About the Role
The North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dental Officer to join our Special Care and Community Dental Service. As a key member of our team, you will provide routine dental care to patients referred to or accessing our service.
Main Responsibilities
- Providing dental care to patients with specific requirements using behavioural techniques, conscious sedation, or general anaesthesia if within competencies.
- Providing emergency and urgent care identified through the Dental Direct triage process.
- Involved with the delivery of a domiciliary dental service to patients who may require such service.

Person Specification
- BDS or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with the General Dental Council (Dentist).
Desirable
- Post-graduate competency demonstrated or qualification obtained in sedation.
Experience
- One year post-graduate clinical activity.
Knowledge
- Structure of local NHS Dental services.
- Knowledge of current NHSE commissioning guidance for special care and paediatric dentistry.
- Knowledge of SOE dental software.
- Good interpersonal skills with citable examples of working as part of a wider dental team.
- Training in the use of conscious sedation.
- Comply with the NHS policy on smoking.
- Ability to travel between sites in Cumbria.
- Current Full Driving Licence.
