Nottingham, Nottingham, United Kingdom Nottinghamshire County Council Full time

Join Our Team in Pension Administration

At Nottinghamshire County Council, we are dedicated to managing The Local Government Pension Scheme for our active, deferred, and retired members. We are on the brink of enhancing our software system, Civica UPM, to revolutionize our processes, aiming for a more automated method of benefit processing and an online platform for scheme members and employers.

The Pension Administration Team plays a crucial role in delivering this service, assisting scheme members as they near retirement, providing pension details to our active workforce, and supporting pensioners who are already receiving their benefits.

Are you a people-oriented individual with a proactive mindset? If so, you may be the ideal candidate to join our team at Nottinghamshire County Council. Previous experience in pensions is advantageous, but we also welcome newcomers and will provide the necessary training.

In these roles, you will be responsible for processing Local Government Pension Scheme benefits in key areas such as retirements, deaths, beneficiary benefits, and transfers in and out of the Scheme. You will also participate in ongoing process improvement initiatives as part of our broader service development.

Key Skills Required:

  • Excellent communication abilities – both written and verbal
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients
  • Capability to engage in both enjoyable and fast-paced discussions
  • Adaptability to a variety of tasks
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to the evolution of new processes
  • A positive attitude and a genuine passion for assisting others
  • Strong mathematical skills and the ability to perform basic calculations.

In return, as a member of our Pension Administration Team, you will gain significant responsibility and opportunities to excel in your career, including acquiring knowledge and understanding of relevant pension regulations. You will be part of a friendly and supportive team, receiving ample guidance to help you realize your potential.

This position involves a 37-hour work week, with a flexible working time scheme in place. The team currently operates in a hybrid model, combining remote work with regular in-person office interactions as part of a structured training and team communication program.
