About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Road Based Supervisor to join our team at EMED Group. As a key member of our Ambulance Care Team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of exceptional patient transport services across Surrey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Performance and Service Delivery: Ensure the prompt departure of Ambulance Care Assistants from base, maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Compliance: Collaborate with the Compliance Team to conduct regular Health and Safety base checks, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Fleet Management: Liaise with the Fleet Supervisor to ensure that all vehicles are suitable for road use, conducting regular vehicle checks to maintain optimal performance and hygiene.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date personal data management systems, ensuring the accuracy of payroll and annual leave records.
  • KPIs: Support the Contract Manager in delivering key performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement and implementing innovative solutions.
  • People Management: Conduct probationary reviews with Ambulance Care Assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure successful onboarding and development.
  • Employee Relations Support: Conduct thorough and fair investigations, delivering concise and well-supported cases to disciplinary chairs as required.
  • Sickness and Leave: Monitor and manage sickness absence, identifying potential avenues for cover and implementing strategies to minimize disruption.
  • Recruitment: Participate in recruitment and selection processes, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Training: Deliver Annual Skills Development training, conducting driving assessments and ensuring all areas of the contract deliver exceptional patient service.
  • Ad-hoc: Conduct property risk assessments as required, ensuring safe and suitable access for Ambulance Crews.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain a safe working environment, taking reasonable care to prevent harm to yourself and others.
  • Diversity: Promote diversity and inclusion within the organization.
  • Hours and Environment: Maintain a visible presence across the contract, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with colleagues.
Person Specification
  • Experience working in a highly regulated, complex business, with a strong understanding of healthcare logistics and patient transport services.
  • Passion for patient care and delivering exceptional service.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with colleagues at all levels.
  • High level of commercial awareness, with experience in achieving KPIs within a highly regulated industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to coach and guide colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize as required.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to stay calm under pressure and use initiative.
