Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Communications Strategy: Collaborate with senior managers to create and execute a comprehensive communications plan aligned with our organization's goals and objectives.
  • Conduct Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research to identify opportunities for campaigns that promote our organization and address key social issues. Analyze data to provide insights and support our efforts in identifying areas needing PR and campaign assistance.
  • Work with Stakeholders: Collaborate with chief officers, department leads, and other stakeholders to identify themes needing campaign support and recommend effective communications strategies.
  • Communicate Campaigns Effectively: Create plans to communicate campaigns effectively to the public through traditional, digital, and social media channels.
  • Provide Strategic Advice: Offer strategic guidance to officers and staff on communications needs, acting as a liaison between the media, local communities, and departments. Manage reputational risks by approving media interactions.
  • Develop Campaigns: Develop campaigns using our organization's framework for best practices.
  • Coordinate with Team Members: Work with colleagues to integrate work and maximize communication channels.
  • Participate in Planning Meetings: Participate in planning meetings and commit to resulting plans and activities.
  • Manage External Suppliers: Manage external suppliers and agencies as needed. Provide briefings for creative agencies to produce communication materials.
Requirements:
  • Extensive Experience: Extensive experience in delivering PR and campaigns for large organizations.
  • Multidisciplinary Skills: Multidisciplinary skills in media liaison, PR, campaigns, digital and social media, and design.
  • Strong Understanding: Strong understanding and experience with traditional media, multi-channel campaigns, online and offline techniques, and customer behavior. Ability to conduct research, analyze data, and develop PR campaigns.
  • Digital and Social Media: Proficient in using digital and social media to boost our organization's online presence and communication.
  • Creative Skills: Strong creative skills and basic design sense for print and online communications, with solid branding knowledge.
  • Media Law: Knowledge of media law or willingness to undergo training.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills to effectively represent our organization and communicate strategy.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in computer use with knowledge of various software packages.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to simplify complex information clearly for non-specialist audiences.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, able to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Teamwork: Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams, commissioning work, and collaborating to ensure integrated activity.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and lateral thinking for problem-solving.
  • Marketing Trends: Willingness to learn emerging marketing communication trends.
  • Driving License: A full driving license is desirable for travel within the organization's area.
