About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen at EKC Sixth Form, part of the EKC Group, for a Programme Director (aka Course Leader) of A Levels (Humanities). This is predominantly a teaching role, with the expectation to support development of the curriculum area and develop a centre of excellence. Teaching, supporting and assessing students' progress and achievement is a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan a highly relevant and distinctive A level curriculum to meet the needs of students, liaising with the Department leadership team to support outstanding achievement and progression for students.
  • Lead and coordinate the delivery team to ensure all students receive up-to-date course information through pre-course/programme events and start of course/programme activities.
  • Facilitate student understanding of the objectives of the subjects, assessment schedules and requirements in line with awarding body criteria, including the course/programme handbook.
About You

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, creative and able to plan and teach engaging and innovative lessons with demonstrated interpersonal skills. Assessing and tracking student progress, to further plan intervention, will be a vital part of the role as well as ensuring all students develop the skills they need to succeed.

The successful candidate will be passionate about making a difference to the futures of our students, providing academic leadership and guidance in this area and managing the curriculum delivery and accreditation. A Level teaching experience is essential and strong management skills are desirable.
