Job Title: Deputy Head Groundsperson

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head Groundsperson to join our team at AD WARRIOR. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the preparation and maintenance of our sports facilities, including pitches and surfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with sports teams to ensure surfaces and pitches are prepared and inspected for fixtures and games sessions.
  • Cope with a busy routine to fully utilize limited windows of pitch availability for grounds work.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are met for each task, in line with legislation, best practice, and College policies.
  • Manage projects to the highest standards, working with sub-contractors as needed, to ensure quality site provision meets employee and customer needs.
  • Carry out reasonable management instructions.

Requirements:

  • NVQ 2 or equivalent in sportsturf or a related field.
  • Full and clean driving licence, as we are a multi-site facility.
  • Some management level experience and proven leadership and communication skills.
  • At least 3 years practical multisport grounds management experience, particularly in cricket preparation.
  • Chainsaw Certificate.

Working Hours:

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday inclusive. Winter hours (from the last Sunday of October) are 7, while summer hours (from the last Sunday of March) are 7.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role will be £32,000 - £34,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include 23 days' holiday, increasing to 28 days plus bank holidays after 2 years of service, free tickets to College performances, life cover, a contributory pension scheme, and significantly subsidised gym membership.
