We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payment Collections Specialist to join our team at Reed. As a Payment Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for managing debt collection primarily through telephony, both inbound and outbound, and handling a shared mailbox.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct debt collection calls for council tax, business rates, penalty charges, and clean air zone debts.
  • Manage both inbound and outbound calls effectively, ensuring timely and professional communication with customers.
  • Handle a shared mailbox, ensuring all queries and communications are addressed promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions and transactions, ensuring all relevant details are logged and up-to-date.
  • Work towards targets and manage a high volume of calls with professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Provide excellent customer service, treating all individuals fairly and working to achieve the best outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in debt collection of some form is essential, with a strong track record of success.
  • Ability to manage sensitive conversations confidently and professionally, with a high level of emotional intelligence.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage a significant workload, with excellent organizational skills.
  • IT literate with proficiency in MS Office, with experience of using enforcement systems such as Civica Collect or OneStep.
  • Ability to train over MS Teams and attend the office once every four weeks, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
