About T Levels

T Levels are new, rigorous qualifications equivalent to three A levels, designed to prepare students for skilled employment, further study, or apprenticeships. These two-year courses combine classroom learning with a significant industry placement, ensuring graduates possess both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

The Role

As a T Level Accounting Examiner, you will play a crucial role in assessing student work and upholding the high standards of these new qualifications. Your responsibilities include:

  • Marking candidate responses accurately and consistently according to pre-defined mark schemes.
  • Submitting samples to your Team Leader at designated times.
  • Ensuring adherence to marking deadlines and administrative procedures.
  • Participating in standardisation meetings to maintain consistency across assessments.
  • Regularly marking scripts during the summer/autumn series.
Experience and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of one year's teaching and assessment experience or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or Business at Level 3.
  • A degree or equivalent work-based qualification such as a Level 5/6/7 NVQ in Accounting and / or Finance / Business or membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA, CIPFA).
  • Comprehensive understanding of the T Level Accountancy specification and industry standards.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • A qualified teacher status or equivalent teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, C&G 7404, PTTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, Assessor/Verifier award).
  • Recent occupational experience in areas such as corporate finance, financial accounting, forensic accounting, management accounting, tax accounting, or auditing.
