About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a school in Wandsworth. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging sessions to students with SEND, tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
  • Lesson Reports and Feedback: Complete detailed lesson reports and provide constructive feedback to students on their progress.
  • Creating a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a positive and nurturing atmosphere that promotes academic and personal growth for students with SEND.
  • Supporting Student Progress: Provide holistic and engaging sessions that meet the needs of students with SEND, advancing their educational and social-emotional journey.
Requirements
  • Experience with SEND: Relevant experience working with students with ADHD, SEMH, and associated difficulties is highly desirable.
  • Delivering Engaging Activities: Deliver engaging activities to pupils in small groups, promoting social interaction and learning.
  • Compassionate Approach: Demonstrate a compassionate and patient approach towards supporting students' individual needs.
  • Excellent Communication and Teamwork Skills: Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
  • Relevant Qualifications or Training: Hold relevant qualifications or training in supporting individuals with SEND, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
  • Enhanced DBS: Hold an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Safeguarding Knowledge: Possess a good understanding of safeguarding processes and procedures.
  • Availability: Be available to work at least 3 days per week (8:30-15:30) term time.
