About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Students with SEND: Provide individualized support and assistance to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as those with associated difficulties.
  • Implementing EHCPs: Assist in the implementation of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure students receive the necessary support and accommodations.
  • Collaborating with Professionals: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students.
  • Fostering a Positive Atmosphere: Contribute to a nurturing and supportive atmosphere that promotes students' academic and personal growth.
Requirements
  • Relevant Experience: Previous experience working with students with SEMH, SLCN, and associated difficulties is highly desirable.
  • Compassionate Approach: Demonstrate a patient and compassionate approach towards supporting students' individual needs.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and students.
  • Relevant Qualifications: Hold relevant qualifications or training in supporting individuals with SEND, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
  • Enhanced DBS: Hold an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, with support provided for the application process if needed.
  • Availability: Be available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30-15:30, during term time.
