Job Objective

The Lead Marine Electrician (ETO) on PLSVs plays a crucial role in overseeing all electrical and electronic systems onboard, ensuring the vessel's operational safety and efficiency while reporting directly to the Chief Engineer. The ETO collaborates with engineering and nautical teams to address challenges related to machinery and electro-hydraulic technology, ensuring safe operations and routine maintenance of power generation, propulsion, auxiliary systems, and other electromechanical and electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Become well-acquainted with machinery and electrical-electronic systems to swiftly restore essential services during emergencies.
  • Adhere to company procedures, policies, and instructions to maintain compliance.
  • Assist with research tasks as directed by senior personnel.
  • Ensure accuracy in maintenance records, providing comprehensive documentation of work performed.
  • Inform the Chief Engineer about equipment replacements and workshop needs.
  • Maintain familiarity with relevant codes of practice.
  • Keep the Deputy Chief and Chief Engineer updated on work progress and report any defects or issues.
  • Gain thorough knowledge of the electrical systems onboard, particularly the SCR system.
  • Complete training as the Person Responsible for the Permit to Work System (PTW) and isolations (Level 3).

Qualifications

This position is ideal for candidates who have:

  • Completed training as an Electrical Technician.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in English, with conversational skills.

  • Familiarity with the vessel's DP and PMS systems.

  • BOSIET / FOET - foreign
  • STCW - Fast Rescue Vessel Course (CERR)
  • STCW – Special Medical First Aid (EPSM)
  • STCW - Special Advanced Fire Fighting (ECIA)
  • STCW – Special Proficiency in Survival and Rescue Craft (EESS)
  • STCW - Professional Qualification for Design of High Voltage Installations (HPAV2)
  • STCW – Basic Safety Training - TBS1

Desirable Additional Training
