Position: Sales Engineering Consultant

Location: Surrey

Compensation: £41,000 per annum + Bonus (approximately £10,000)

Company Overview:
The organization specializes in providing high-end industrial equipment and exceptional post-sale services. They are currently looking for a Sales Engineering Consultant to deliver thorough After Sales assistance to clients, ensuring their machinery requirements are met effectively.

Role Overview:
This position may attract individuals from a Field Engineering background who prefer a customer-facing role without extensive travel, or Internal Sales professionals with a solid technical grasp of high-value machinery.

Work Arrangement:
This role is based in Surrey and includes the option for remote work.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday - 37 hours. There is potential for advancement to the After Sales Manager position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of specialized machinery to provide expert technical assistance to clients via phone and email.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to machinery supply and service.
  • Act as the deputy to the After Sales Manager, stepping in during their absence.
  • Offer technical and administrative support within the After Sales department, including preparing and submitting reports on service activities.
  • Identify spare parts, source them, interpret technical drawings, and manage customer expectations.
  • Proactively generate sales opportunities for the After Sales division, including selling After Market Service contracts and negotiating terms with existing clients.
  • Assist with spare parts inventory management, including receiving parts, handling foreign currency, and allocating stock.
  • Ensure the availability of core spare parts for customers, coordinating with couriers and freight companies while keeping clients informed.
  • Organize the schedules of Service Engineers, coordinating visits for routine maintenance, repairs, and installations.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, service visits, repairs, and customer interactions.
  • Foster productive relationships with colleagues, including Service Engineers, Sales Engineers, Project Managers, and the Inventory team.
  • Communicate with clients regarding technical inquiries, providing remote support and monitoring customer feedback.

Candidate Profile:
  • Ideal candidates may have experience in roles such as Service Engineer, Sales Engineer, Proposals Engineer, Applications Engineer, Sales Administrator, or Technical Sales Specialist.
  • A solid technical background in Industrial Machinery, encompassing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plant knowledge is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to understand customer issues remotely are crucial.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor when interacting with clients and colleagues.
  • Self-motivated and commercially aware, with the ability to work independently.

Commuting Information:
This role is accessible from various locations including Surrey, Mitcham, Morden, Tolworth, Sutton, Epson, New Maldon, Chessington, Croydon, Purley, Leatherhead, Tadworth, Redhill, and Banstead.

Compensation: £41,000 per annum + Bonus (approximately £10,000), along with additional benefits.
