Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Caregiver to join our team at Central Health Newfoundland. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to patients and residents who require assistance with daily living activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized care and support to patients and residents, including assistance with daily living activities, mobility, and personal care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, residents, and their families, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support, including input to care plans and participation in care conferences.
  • Assist with escorting patients and residents to outside appointments and activities, promoting socialization and community engagement.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
  • Graduation from a personal care attendant program approved by Central Health.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of physical activity and mobility. The role may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other contagions, as well as working in awkward or cramped positions to assist with care. A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority is required.
