About the Role

Eton College is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Badminton Coach to join our team. As a Badminton Coach, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality coaching and support to our pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the College's teaching staff in delivering our badminton coaching programme
  • Coach pupils badminton to a high level, developing their skills and techniques
  • Plan and deliver coaching sessions and activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment
  • Assist with and run practice sessions, providing feedback and guidance to pupils
  • Develop and discuss tactics and strategies for both individual and team play
  • Research and implement good practice and innovative coaching methods
  • Provide feedback and guidance on players' performance, physical and technical skills
  • Advise pupils on maintaining a positive mental attitude and discipline, inspiring confidence and self-being
  • Foster good sportsmanship, resolving disputes and addressing bad behavior in a timely manner
  • Lend support to enhance badminton provision across all age groups
  • Ensure pupils train to a high level of health and safety at all times
  • Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, including completing safeguarding training and adhering to confidentiality procedures
Requirements
  • A strong background in playing/coaching badminton to a high level
  • An understanding and commitment to the highest levels of pupil welfare
  • A passion for badminton and a commitment to the aims and ethos of sport at Eton
  • An enthusiasm for developing students' games and a willingness to work with a variety of age groups
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work flexibly
  • An appreciation of the need for patience and flexibility when coaching
  • Confidence to work alongside Eton staff to assist with coaching and upskilling teachers
