About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Badminton Coach to join our team at Eton College. As a Badminton Coach, you will play a crucial role in supporting the College's teaching staff and delivering high-quality coaching to our pupils.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the College's teaching staff in delivering badminton coaching programs
  • Coach pupils badminton to a high level, focusing on technical skill development and game strategy
  • Plan and deliver coaching sessions and activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all participants
  • Assist with and run practice sessions, providing feedback and guidance to pupils
  • Develop and discuss tactics and strategies for both individual and team play, promoting a culture of excellence and sportsmanship
  • Research and implement innovative coaching methods and techniques, staying up-to-date with best practices in the field
  • Provide feedback and guidance on players' performance, physical and technical skill, and mental attitude
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment, promoting good sportsmanship and resolving conflicts in a timely and professional manner
  • Lend support to enhance badminton provision across all age groups, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging experience for all pupils
  • Ensure pupils train to a high level of health and safety at all times, adhering to College policies and procedures
  • Commit to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion, recognizing the value of a diverse and inclusive team environment
Requirements
  • A strong background in playing/coaching badminton to a high level, with a proven track record of success
  • An understanding and commitment to the highest levels of pupil welfare, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants
  • A passion for badminton, with a desire to share knowledge and expertise with others
  • An understanding and commitment to the aims and ethos of sport at Eton College, recognizing the importance of excellence and sportsmanship
  • An enthusiasm for developing students' games, with a focus on technical skill development and game strategy
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to plan and deliver coaching sessions and activities
  • An appreciation of the need for flexibility and patience when coaching, recognizing the importance of creating a supportive and inclusive environment
  • The ability to work with a variety of age groups, adapting coaching methods and techniques to meet the needs of each group
  • Confidence to work alongside Eton staff to assist with coaching and upskilling teachers, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence
