About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Badminton Coach to join our team at Eton College. As a Badminton Coach, you will play a central role in delivering high-quality coaching and support to our pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the College's teaching staff in delivering our badminton coaching programme
  • Coach pupils badminton to a high level, developing their skills and techniques
  • Plan and deliver coaching sessions and activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants
  • Assist with and run practice sessions, providing feedback and guidance to pupils
  • Develop and discuss tactics and strategies for both individual and team play, promoting a positive and competitive team spirit
  • Research and implement good practice in innovative and successful coaching, staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and methodologies
  • Provide feedback and guidance on players' performance, physical and technical skill, and mental attitude
  • Foster good sportsmanship and resolve any disputes or issues that may arise during coaching sessions
  • Lend support to enhance badminton provision across all age groups, promoting a love of the sport and a commitment to excellence
  • Ensure pupils train to a high level of health and safety at all times, adhering to College policies and procedures
  • Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, completing relevant training and adhering to College guidelines
Requirements
  • A strong background in playing/coaching badminton to a high level
  • An understanding and commitment to the highest levels of pupil welfare
  • A passion for badminton and a desire to share that passion with others
  • An understanding and commitment to the aims and ethos of sport at Eton College
  • An enthusiasm for developing students' games and promoting a love of the sport
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently
  • An appreciation of the need for flexibility and patience when coaching
  • The ability to work with a variety of age groups and adapt to different coaching styles
  • Confidence to work alongside Eton staff to assist with coaching and upskilling teachers
