Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to join our Food Safety Team as a Food Control Officer. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and will involve a combination of remote and on-site work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enforcement of food safety legislation in various food establishments categorized as high and medium risk.
  • Investigation of food-related complaints and incidents of foodborne illnesses.
  • Conducting food and water sampling to ensure safety standards are met.
  • Providing support and guidance to local food businesses regarding compliance with regulations.
  • Contributing to the development of policies and procedures that enhance the service.
  • Occasionally acting as a deputy for the Principal Officer in Food Control.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a degree-level qualification and demonstrate a strong commitment to public health and safety. Excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team are crucial for success in this role.
