Engineering Team Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Team Leader to join our team at Valeo Foods in York. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to deliver the engineering strategy, ensuring the plant runs efficiently, effectively, and safely at all times.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of engineers to deliver the engineering strategy and ensure the plant runs efficiently, effectively, and safely.
- Use the CMMS system (Holistech) to highlight required modifications for PPMs to the Asset Care Manager.
- Adhere to and improve shift-based engineering KPIs.
- Lead the shift teams to ensure site KPIs are achieved.
- Develop the engineering team to ensure they achieve goals and targets and conduct regular 1-2-1 meetings.
- Lead specific engineering framework meetings.
- Communicate effectively with all required stakeholders across the production team and the engineering department.
- Control contractors, including permit control and RAMS vetting.
- Be an active influence on building our information database of equipment in the Engineering shared drive.
- Ensure compliance to defined workshop housekeeping and standards.
- Deputise for the Asset Care Manager.
- Ensure all repairs, corrective actions, and PPMs are completed to a high standard.
- Ensure the engineering shift team is upskilled in line with development and legislative practices.
- Structured and practical engineering training (e.g., apprenticeship/HNC/degree).
- Knowledge of CI process and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Knowledge and experience of management in an FMCG environment is a preference.
- H&S/Food Safety systems & legislation knowledge (e.g., IOSH) to ensure a safe working environment.
- IT and PC knowledge to use widespread functions within relevant software.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team, with the ability to work quickly and under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
- Aptitude to develop new skills.
Salary: £49,164.33 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Shifts: 6am till 2pm and 2pm till 10pm (Monday to Friday)
