About the Role

Skanska, a leading project development and construction group, is seeking an Electrical Construction Manager to join our infrastructure team in the Cambridge/Peterborough area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical installation and decommissioning of existing works for a major project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the appointment of specialist contractors and manage their contracts to ensure cost, time, quality, and safety requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, design teams, project management teams, construction teams, and supply chains to provide mechanical installation expertise.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant standards, regulations, and codes of practice throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop innovative solutions to reduce carbon emissions, increase biodiversity, and address climate change.
  • Manage your team, production, and coordination of the mechanical installation program and deliverables schedules.
  • Lead buildability, risk, opportunity, and value engineering reviews.
  • Monitor and report on progress on a weekly and monthly basis.

Requirements

  • Extensive expertise in the water and wastewater industry, with a strong background in relevant roles.
  • Time-served and relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Member of a relevant professional body, such as IMechE or CIWEM.
  • Demonstrated competence in mechanical installation and instrumentation design in the water/wastewater industry environment.
  • Experience in the installation, commissioning, and proving of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation (MEICA) systems.
  • Proven management experience, developing others, and managing staff welfare.
  • CITB Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification.
  • First Aid training.
  • Full UK driver's license.
