About the Role

We are looking for an Electrical Construction Manager to join our infrastructure team in the Cambridge/Peterborough area. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the mechanical installation and decommissioning of the existing works for the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the appointment of specialist contractors and management of the specialist contractors team contracts to cost, time, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, design team, project management team, construction team, and supply chain to provide mechanical installation expertise.
  • Ensure all relevant standards, regulations, and codes of practice are adhered to throughout the project life cycle.
  • Develop new ways of working to reduce carbon, increase biodiversity, address climate change, and embrace innovations and new digital technologies.
  • Manage the team, production, and coordination of the mechanical installation program and deliverables schedules throughout the project.
  • Lead buildability, risk, opportunity, and value engineering reviews.
  • Monitor and report on all progress on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Manage the delivery of the project in accordance with management plans, including client requirements, and ensure contractors' proposals are compliant with employer's requirements.

Requirements

  • Extensive expertise in the water and wastewater industry.
  • Strong background in relevant roles, demonstrating proficiency in areas such as water treatment, waste management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Time served and relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field (HND/HNC, NVQ, City & Guilds).
  • Member of a relevant professional body, e.g., IMechE, CIWEM.
  • Demonstrate level of competence in mechanical installation and instrumentation design in the water/wastewater industry environment.
  • Experienced in the installation, commissioning, and proving of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation (MEICA) systems.
  • An experienced manager of people and teams, developing others, and managing staff welfare.
  • CITB Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
  • First Aid trained.
  • Full UK driver's license.
