About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Editor News to join our team at Dmgmedia. As a key member of our editorial leadership, you will play a crucial role in shaping the direction of our newsroom and driving our editorial goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the editorial team to deliver high-quality news content that meets the highest standards of journalism.
  • Work closely with senior executives to develop and implement editorial strategies that align with business goals.
  • Oversee the recruitment and development of talented journalists and editors to ensure a strong and diverse team.
  • Collaborate with finance, HR, and commercial teams to ensure the smooth running of the business.
  • Lead on regulatory issues, including liaison with regulatory bodies, compliance, and complaints handling.
  • Drive digital transformation and innovation in the newsroom to support business subscription goals.

Person Specification

  • Significant experience in a national news environment, including executive experience as a desk head or significant managerial experience in a news environment.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and driving editorial excellence.
  • Experience of working in regulated environments and understanding of complaints handling processes.
  • Strong digital and print experience, with a deep understanding of the news industry.
  • Substantial experience of HR issues, including talent recruitment and development.
  • Legal and regulatory knowledge, with the ability to navigate complex issues.
