Job Summary

The Michigan State University College of Human Medicine is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as the Director of the Master of Public Health (MPH) Program. This is a fixed-term appointment with the possibility of renewal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the MPH Program, including curriculum development, instruction, and student advising.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the program's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure the program's accreditation and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Represent the program at local, regional, and national public health agencies and organizations.
  • Teach and develop curriculum for core and capstone courses.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of undergraduate public health courses.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in Public Health or a related field.
  • Experience working in public health or related fields.
  • Demonstrated administrative and research skills.
  • At least one previous leadership role with faculty or instructors.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-graduate professional working experience in a public health setting or related fields.
  • Administrative and research skills.
  • Teaching experience in-class and asynchronous online format.
  • Experience in course development and instruction, and student mentoring.
  • Peer-reviewed publication record.
  • Experience working with diverse groups of faculty, instructors, staff, and students.
