Job Summary

The Michigan State University College of Human Medicine is seeking a highly qualified Director of the Master of Public Health (MPH) Program. This is a fixed-term appointment with the possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing, strengthening, and promoting all activities associated with the MPH program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the MPH program, including faculty and staff annual reviews, data reporting to ASPPH and CEPH, and instruction in core and capstone courses.
  • Develop and implement the program's strategic plan, including increasing student enrollment and elevating the department's standing and reputation.
  • Represent the program in meetings with CHM Academic Affairs Deans & Directors and other university meetings and planning groups.
  • Teach, develop curriculum and courses, and produce scholarship.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of undergraduate public health courses.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in public health or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in public health or related fields.
  • Demonstrated administrative and research skills.
  • At least one previous leadership role with faculty or instructors.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-graduate professional working experience in a public health setting or related fields.
  • Administrative and research skills.
  • Teaching experience, both in-class and especially in an asynchronous online format.
  • Peer-reviewed publication record.
  • Experience working with diverse groups of faculty, instructors, staff, and students.
